Subjects Taught:
I have been teaching since Fall of 2012 — a combination of 10 years of teaching in a Christian private school (K-12), 3 years with 18-21-year-old special-needs students, and a year of subbing in multiple school districts. I’ve had the incredible opportunity to teach a wide variety of subjects in every K-12 grade. While much of my experience has been in teaching mathematics (Kindergarten and 5th-9th), other subjects include history, reading, writing, spelling, grammar, geography, typing, public speaking, Career and Technical Education, personal finance, and elementary art and PE.
Why I Love Teaching:
Teaching is truly my dream job! I find it so rewarding to see students “light up” when they understand something new, make connections, and grow in confidence. I love seeing the before-and-after of each student going through the school year, helping them to see how much they’ve grown academically, socially, and emotionally. No matter where a student is at with their strengths and challenges, I am driven and committed to guide them further into success.
Home Life:
I’m a life-long learner, so when I’m not in the classroom or tutoring, you can find me doing things like spending time with my family and friends, traveling, serving as host to my AirBnB guests, skiing, and gardening. I began learning French in 2023 before traveling to Europe for the first time that summer, spending twenty days in France, England, Scotland, and Ireland. It was unforgettable and I definitely plan to go back and explore other parts of the world. Additionally, I’ve been a musician since an early age, enjoying singing, flute, piano, bass, and percussion.
